Cascade Chocolate Mohogany Porter
by Bazza @ 25, Jul 2005

 1/5

This is crap, far too sweet for me, not backed up with a good dose of hops and no real porter flavour. Made with a liquid malt and a liquid yeast - what a waste. Have struggled through 1/3 of the keg but won't be keeping it. Will dump it and put a good beer in it. I don't think I'll be taking a punt on cascade again if this beer is an indication of the brand.

India Pale Ale Pack 1.7kg
by Bazza @ 03, Jul 2005

 3/5

Made with kit, 1.5Kg liquid amber malt and safale s-04 (rehydrated) and brewed at 22*C for 16 days in primary. OG=1044 FG=1010. Pretty good, however the flavour isn't the freshest. Very malty, lots of bittering and finishes cleanly. This is the second 1.7Kg ESB kit I've tried and in future I'll give them a miss or add some grain to freshen them up. They taste a little "old" - will try the fresh wort to see the difference.
