Morgans Royal Oak Amber Ale
by Ian @ 14, Apr 2005

 5/5

I've made this 10-12 times usually added 10-15g of fuggles & sometimes goldings hops. I've used an ultra brew with each batch. Every time it's great, slightly sweet upfront & bitter where it counts. I've got some fermenting now & some 7 months old in the fridge & 5 slabs in between.

Brewiser Australian Ale
by ian @ 31, Mar 2005

 2/5

I added 2 tins together & safeale yeast brewed for 8 days @ 19-23 deg. Filled to about 23.5 lts. It was OK at best. Quite dark, quite bland, quite sweet. Drinkable.

Beermakers Old
by ian @ 17, Mar 2005

 3/5

I've made this twice, both times with 1.5kg black rock amber malt & Filled to about 21.5 lts. The 2nd time I added 12.5 g of fuggles hops. Both were quite nice , I'm no huge fan of Tooheys Old but if you wanted to make somthing similar then this is pretty close. The head quality on both brews was pretty ordinary , perhaps 200g of corn syrup might help.

Morgans Dockside Stout
by Ian @ 10, Feb 2005

 4/5

I've made this twice both times with 1.5kg dark liquid malt, 300g corn syrup, 10ml liqorice extract. I used the supplied yeast & made batches of about 19-20lts & fermented it at about 22deg. I've used 15g of both Fuggles & Goldings hops It's very good, strong dark , malty, bitter stout, with a hint of sweetness. The head quality is also very good. It's not quite the perfect stout ..... the quest continues

Morgans Blue Mountain Lager
by ian @ 20, Jan 2005

 5/5

I make this beer every 5 or 6 weeks, its never failed me. I brew it with an ultra brew & 12.5g of Golden Cluster hops. usually at around 22-23 degs & filled to 20.5 lts. I've tried saaz, goldings hops & P.O.R. hops with success as well.

GENERIC - Homebrand Lager
by ian @ 20, Jan 2005

 3/5

I bought 2 tins of this for $5 each, added them together in the fermenter, filled it to 23.5 lts, added both yeast sachets, fermented it for 8 days @ 23 degs. left it for 4 months, called it beer & drank it. Its wasnt the greatest beer of all time but a long way from the worst. $10 well spent.

Coopers Heritage Lager
by ian @ 20, Jan 2005

 5/5

A fine drop I've made it 10-15 times. It's sweet up front with a nice bitter aftertaste. I tend to use it to try different hops . I've done P.O.R., golden cluster, cascade , Mt Hood, northern brewer, hallertau & Green bullet. The best results are P.O.R. & Hallertau but all have been very good.

Black Rock NZ Draught
by ian @ 20, Jan 2005

 3/5

I'm not a huge fan of Black rock beers or even DB Draught but I made a very close copy of DB using this , it was a while ago & I used an ultra brew & some green bullet hops. It was OK if you like that sort of stuff.

Beermakers Bitter Ale XXX
by Ian @ 16, Jan 2005

 3/5

A fairly standard Aussie style beer. I've made this 3 or 4 times & used 12-13g of either Golden Cluster or Pride of Ringwood hops & an ultra brew & filled it to 20-21 lts. Cant complain its very easy to drink & pretty cheap as well. I'll give it 3 stars but 3.5 would be better I might even make another this week

Coopers Australian Bitter
by Ian @ 16, Jan 2005

 5/5

I've brewed this about 6 times each of them with an ultrabrew. 3 each with about 13g of either Pride of Ringwood or Goldings hop pellets (in a strainer with boiling water poured over them & left for 15 minutes ). It's absolutley fantastic, probably the best kit I've ever made. It's best after 3 or months in the bottle. Good body, head, bitterness & a little sweetness. Always popular with guests as well. You could drink it all day & all night
