Coopers Australian Bitter
by Peter @ 20, Jun 2007

 5/5

Fermented this kit per instructions for 6 days at about 25-26C. Tried one at a couple of weeks and it was O.K. At 30 days however, it is really a very good pint of bitter. I agree with the prior review that it was similar to Old Speckled Hen, but in my case it seemed a bit more malty than OSH(not at all objectionable though). Made per instructions you can't go wrong, but give it a full 30 days of conditioning. Great for a Civilized Pint at the end of the day!

Coopers Irish Stout
by Peter @ 13, Jun 2007

 4/5

I made this per directions. Fermented at 26C for 7 days. After two weeks the head was lacey and it was a little green. However, after two months I'm very pleased with it. The head is much creamier and stays to the end; helps the 'mouthfeel' a bit. I might make it at 20l next time. Possibly with a can of dark malt and some dextrose to boost the alcohol a bit (not too much though;). I might also try to ferment with Munton's yeast at 20C or so with some Servomyces. At the very least, I know I can make this again per instructions and get a good stout in two or three months.

Coopers India Pale Ale (IPA)
by Peter @ 12, Jun 2007

 5/5

I wrongly posted this review in the Coopers IPA (Superseded) section. This was made with a new production kit. --- I made this IPA using the modified instructions from Cooper's Web Site. Made per instrucitions, adding 1kg LDM and 500g of Dextrose. Topped off fermenter to 20l. Bottled after 7 days. After being in the bottles for over a month, this stuff is heavenly at about 6% ABV. This is nice and hoppy, real IPA taste. Keeping some for a few more months until winter. Can't Wait!
