Continental Pilsner
by rob @ 24, Jan 2008

 3/5

I have only brewed a few time to be honest, and the style of festa brew is very drinkable. It may not impress many beer drinkers, but it won't turn them off either. 6.5/10

Brewcraft English Bitter
by Rob @ 16, May 2006

 3/5

Brewed this with 500g Amber DME, 500g Light DME, 2 East Kent Goldings hop plugs and the kit (Muntons) yeast to 20 litres. Fermented 9 days at 18°C then racked for 2 days secondary before kegging at 10psi. Not at all a bad drop for a dump'n'stir.

E.S.B. American Pale Ale Fresh Wort
by Rob @ 09, Feb 2006

 4/5

Brewed the kit topped up to 20 litres. Added Cascade hops pitches WLP001 California Ale yeast. Great beer. Even easier than a kit and kilo and 10 times as good.

E.S.B Czech Pilsner
by Rob @ 02, Dec 2005

 4/5

Brewed with the addition of strained Saaz hops after 6-7 mins soaking in boiled water. After 4 weeks in the bottle - Superb. Hazy golden colour, outstanding head and wonderful clean, hoppy taste. Good times ahead!

Coopers Stout
by Rob @ 29, Nov 2005

 5/5

This kit has always given me great results. Kit plus malt extract and dextrose, used as the base for a partial mash oatmeal stout, the base of a chocolate stout, and the inimitable two can screamer (with a can of Coopers Draught). Never a bad batch. I have come close to a Coopers Best Extra Stout with this kit, a partial mash of JW Pale Ale, some roasted barley and golden syrup fermented with yeast recultured from Coopers Pale Ale bottles. Fantastic kit.

Black Rock East India Pale Ale
by Rob @ 29, Nov 2005

 3/5

It's pale for an IPA. My recipe was simple, just the kit, 750g of Light Dry Extract, 500g of dextrose and 18g of tettnanger hop pallets in 19 litres. I used Wyeast London Ale (1968) yeast. The beer is an excellent session beer, with a nice balance of bitterness and malt. Not quite an IPA, but a nice enough kit if treated well.

Coopers Sparkling Ale
by Rob @ 27, Jun 2005

 4/5

I brewed this with fermentables as per instructions, plus 15g of Hallertau. Boiled the LME, DME and dextrose for 20 mins then added the hop flowers for 5 mins, crash chilled in sink full of water and esky ice packs. Fermented on yeast recultured from Coopers Sparkling ale. Fermented two weeks then kegged. Carbonated by rocking the keg 100 times @ 14psi, tasted next day. Not bad but will doubtlessly improve with age.

Coopers Real Ale
by Rob @ 06, Jun 2005

 4/5

Coopers Real Ale, with 1/2kg of honey, 1/2kg of brown sugar and the supplied yeast.Fermented at fairly high temps (25-28C). It turned out fairly rough initially, but after 3 months in the bottle, it is beautiful and smooth and the honey flavour has really come through.

Cascade Golden Harvest Lager
by Rob @ 23, Mar 2005

 3/5

I made this kit with 1.5Kg Light DME boiled with 15g of Hallertau hops for 15 mins. Pitched with SafAle S-05 yeast and fermented for 10 days. Racked straight to keg from primary. A nice pale ale from a lager kit.
