GENERIC - Homebrand Draught
by robboholic

I live in Brisbane Australia and was
interesting in testing out this generic
kit during the 30 deg celcius
temperatures. OG 1038 25L water 1kg
Brown Sugar and 250g of dextrose. Approx
alc/vol 4.7%, FG 1005. I am very
impressed, definately a true draught
taste at only two weeks conditioned in
the bottle. Light on body and can be
slammed down real fast. Zero head though
if you like a beer with head. I would be
very confident of brewing this in the
higher temp's with good results. Only
downside is that the yeast sediment does
not compact as well as a cooper's
yeast, however i don't mind a cloudy
beer when i near the finish of the
bottle, just poor gently to avoid yeast
deposit like any home brew.

Coopers Bitter
by Robboholic

I've brewed four of these now, has
become my staple. It is very dark and
carries the traditional bitter style
flavour with good head. I have added 27L
of water to my next one to lighten the
colour a bit, I am using brown sugar 1kg
and 250g of dextrose for the extra water
(dissolved on the stove). The brown
sugar carries molasses so it gives
better malty flavour and body than
dextrose alone. I am interested to see
and will post on my experiment with the
27L.

Tooheys Lager

Brewed with 1kg of dextrose only, no
bells or whistles at 22-26 deg cel for 6
days, bottled for two weeks, is very
drinkable at this stage in contrast to
the coopers lager which is still very
strong in fruity in flavour at 4 weeks,
good for those who like light tasting
beers to be guzzled quickly in the heat.
