Muntons Gold 3kg India Pale Ale
by Timaaay @ 18, Jul 2005

 5/5

Made to instructions (Troops version) but with Muntons Premium Gold yeast. A very nice drop. Lots of English hops aroma and flavour but not overdone, medium amber colour, full malty taste. Not bitter enough for a true IPA (IBUs in the low 20's) but very drinkable regardless. Recommended.

Muntons PGold Midas Touch
by Timaaay @ 18, Jul 2005

 2/5

Made according to instructions with supplied yeast, 21 degrees, FG 1022. Verdict: too hoppy and too malty. What!!!? Yes, you can go too far (IMO). Lacks balance; initially too sweet, finish too bitter, hops aroma overdone, dull soapy taste. Not popular with tasters, including a beer judge who also said too malty/hoppy. A poor attempt at a big Belgium style beer. This was an expensive kit ($40) and not worth the money.
