TCB Wetpak - American Pale

This is easily the best of any kit beer
I've brewed. I'm an APA fan and really
enjoy drinking this, although to me
it's not a real "session beer" (but
to be fair I think that's the case for
almost any APA).
It's also a favourite amongst those of
my mates that like more boutique beers
rather than my tooheys skulling mates
(way too flavourful for them!).

X-TRACT Summer Edition Wheat 3kg

I made this with the standard yeast to
try it. Whilst not as hugely bitter as
the Pils it still has a huge bitterness.
Absolutely no german wheat flavours.
In fact not really like any wheat I've
made before. After reading the other
review of this kit I'm thinking it
might have been worth trying with a
better yeast, OTOH I think the kit
should stand on its own feet.

X-TRACT Pilsner 3kg

I made this kit as per the instructions
using the yeast included. Fermented at
around 12 degrees.
Personally I found it a decent bitter
but really to me it wasn't a pils.
Minimal hop aroma, just heaps of
bitterness. I think I may as well have
done a cheap two can! Can't say I
really enjoyed drinking it.
Unfortunately this huge bitter balance
seems to be a part of the X-Tracts.
After two different kits like this I'm
afraid they'll be my last.
