Muntons Nut Brown Ale Doc Hooligan 5/5 18-08-2010
Comments:
Mixed the Nut Brown ale as specified on instructions and used 1 kg of light malt extract. Put fermenter on heat pad. The brew started to turn over after 11 hours and bubble every 2 seconds for 48 hours. Kept constant temp of around 25 dgrees for 7 days. Used brow/raw sugar in the large 750ml glass bottles. Came out at treat, almost the best homebrew ever.

This Lager really can fool you into thinking you've made a trip to Bavaria. Like all Munton Connoisseur kits this is another hit with friends. No off tastes or sulphur nose. This matures fast so get ready for a treat 2 weeks after conditioning. Served ice cold you get a lacey white head all the way to the bottom of the glass. You may not get the same results but you should. I've got to be the low-tech prince of brewing but make superb brew every time. Bleach to sanitize (they cringe) table sugar instead of dextrose (they flinch) and being in Florida my fermenting temp in summer is a constant 80F (26.6C). Have made hundreds of various kits ... Muntons seems best. Cheers.

First try with the BML after many recommendations. Brewed can with BE1, 12g of Saaz hops (steeped in hot water then all in) and S-189 Swiss Lager Yeast. Fermented at 12degC for about three weeks. Took about 2 months to carb up and mature. Nice light colour, good head retention and fine bubbles. Quite floral on the nose, no detectable sulphur. Nice dry palate with a vague hint of sweet malt aftertaste. Overall a nice summer beer and a good intro into lager beers. Make sure you use some extra hops as it may be bland without?
Coopers Real Ale George 4/5 12-08-2010
Comments:
First time I've made thi skit. Made it to the "Unreal Ale" recipe as listed on the Coopers website: 1.7kg Coopers Real Ale kit, 1kg Coopers Brew Enhancer, 500g Coopers Light Dry Malt and the kit yeast. I let it condition in the bottle for three weeks and gave it a taste. Very good flavor, head retention, mouthfeel and color. Still just a tad green, I expect it will smooth out more with age - if it lasts that long! Good stuff!
Black Rock Nut Brown Ale matt 4/5 08-08-2010

used shop recommended DDME and LDME 500/500 and safale 04. after 1 month was sensational , and even better mixed 50/50 with coopers canadian blonde. might get another container and mix both kits and their recommended adjuncts to make 45+ litres
Coopers Australian Pale Ale Homebrew Pete 5/5 06-08-2010
Comments:
Used BE2, 500g LDME and POR finishing hops steeped for 15 mins......After 10 days fermentation and bottled for 3 weeks, I couldn't be happier! Tastes like the real thing.

there are a million scientists in here that can tell you how to make it so i won't go there. The taste is what matters. Have made maybe 4 of these kits according to directions using yeast supplied. It is very slight but there is a hint of sulpher that i don't care for. If you don't tell non-brewers they don't notice ... it's that subtle. Did I drink it all? - you bet! It's just that there are better kits out there.

Muntons (connoisseur version)My personal favourite. Brewed with 4 cups of common table sugar - Warning if you use any more sugar you will get that cidery taste the brew kit companies warn us about. If you need more alcohol use malt. Ferments in 5-6 days then straight to bottles - no secondary here. Nice clean taste with enuf bitters to clean the palate. No off tastes to speak of, no sulpher nose or funny banana notes I've tasted in other beers. I hope this helps someone and wanted to add that this forum is a great idea. Thanx Mark email with questions I've easily made 100 of these with no bad results.

My friends say never stop making this! I make it with 4 cups of common table sugar and no more. Warning! any more sugar will impart that cidery sour taste the beer kit brewing companies warn you about. If you need more alcohol buy the malt or corn sugar. Fermentation is about 5-6 days then straight to bottles to condition. It's really good in 10 days but you get that last 5% in 3 weeks time.
Brewcraft Irish Stout Dave 5/5 03-08-2010
Comments:
I made this Stout with the brewcraft Irish stout beer enhancer (No.74) in place of brewing sugar, all other direction followed as per the lable. The result is exelent Stout, this will be my winter brew from now on.
Raspberry (Framboise) Simon Birch 2/5 01-08-2010
Comments:
Brewed as per the instructions with brewing sugar. Does improve with ages but no where near as good as commercial Framboise or the wheat beer in this range.
Muntons Gold 3kg India Pale Ale Marius 5/5 31-07-2010
Comments:
Into 1 can of the 2-can kit went a jar of Devon moorland honey, intense in taste. Simple, but after a couple of months' keeping all sweetness had been elinated, leaving a taste of honey without that sweetness of commercial honey beers.
Muntons Nut Brown Ale Marius 5/5 31-07-2010
Comments:
I added only 1.5lb Muntons dark spraymalt, 1 teaspoon Maldon sea salt (my attempt at water treatment). Result: about 3.8 alcohol, so bouncy-castle stuff, subtly moreish. And a teeny tang of the sea.
Coopers Canadian Blonde Mrtickel 4/5 30-07-2010
Comments:
I brewed this beer a few weeks ago and brewed with 1kg of coopers brew enhancer 1. It took 2 weeks to ferment and 2 weeks in secondary fermentor then bottled and left for 3 weeks to carbonate. opened bottle after 3 weeks and it is a lovely tasting beer its nicer than coopers mexician creaves. If you are looking for something with a bit more taste than the mexician creaves then this is the stuff.
Coopers European Lager the painter 3/5 29-07-2010
Comments:
I,ve brewed this one on and off over the year using different brew enhancers and finishing hops. All with vareing sucsses. Overall this is a good kit to use as a base for both lagers/ales, but in its true form of recomended mix it can be a dit dull and lacking in hop finish. It reminds me of Coopers All Malt Lager in consertrate form for us to do at home. Either way this is a fool proof kit that gives you a 50-50 chance of liking it.
Coopers Australian Bitter George 4/5 29-07-2010
Comments:
First time I've made this one. Brewed with one tin of Coopers light LME and a dry lager yeast. I wanted to make it simple to use as a basis for future brews. It came out very nice, but with little or no head retention. Might do the next one with some specialty grains to help oout with the head issue. Other than that, it's a good one!

Muntons Yorkshire Bitter Groovy G 5/5 27-07-2010
Comments:
Brewed with 1 bag of ultra brew, one 12 gram bag of fuggles, one 12 gram bag of goldings and Safale yeast with the aim of making a Kilkenny style. One week primary at around 20 degrees Celsius. Very bitter from the hops after 2 weeks in the bottle. Really started hitting its straps after 4 weeks. It didn’t last much longer after that so I can only imagine how good this brew can get! Beautiful brown colour with a hint red. Creamy head stayed all the way down to the bottom my pint glass, clinging to the sides with every sip. If you like English bitters give this one a shot, you wont be disappointed!
