after getting my all grain equipment
together i found that after not brewing
for a few months i had no beer and alot
of empty bottles so i decided to put
down a couple of Grumpy's extract
brews. i can happily say this is the
first brew i'v made that i would quite
hapily drink out of primary, very smooth
and caramel, i'll add to this post
after i bottle and condition. two thumbs
up so far (fermented with S-04 @ 18-20C
currently sitting in secondary)

This is a great beer. The Grumpys
brewshop description threw me for a
while so I avoided it. Made it to spec
- 23l with wyeast 1056, brewed week in
primary at 22 deg and 5 days secondary.
Bulk primed and bottled. Beer has a
lovely balance - a subtle charcoal hint
reminiscent of a good stout but with a
flavour much more like a Belhaven
scottish ale. Rich roasty flavour with
a good malt profile.
