Wheat update
by Alan - Email Reviewer @ 12, May 2010 |

After two weeks in the bottle its
tasting great, very similar to Leffe
Blonde (not my thoughts but two very
critical mates), or 3/4 towards
Hoegaarden when standing between Hoe and
Macs Great White. Couldnt recomend more,
the price in bottle is twice that of the
regular effort but when your looking at
$0.70 per stubbie vs $3.50 the pay back
is less than a crate of home brew away.

Wheats a treat
by Alan - Email Reviewer @ 27, Apr 2010 |

I started with the Muntons kit however
swapped the yeast for a specialist wheat
yeast (can't remember the brand).
brewed
as per directions however used a
brewcraft wheat beer enhancer in place
of dextrose/ sugar. I put the wheat
enhancer in the barrel after the boiling
water and brew kit resulting in some of
the wheat to turn into porridge, this
didn't end up negatively affecting the
brew. OG 1040, FG 1006 after 13 days
with temp varying from 22-17 degrees
celcius. Just bottled it with standard
two carbonation drops per crate bottle.
Tasted surprisingly great straight from
the barrel, will give an update in a
couple weeks when I open up the first
bottle or two.

Wonderful Beer
by Don - Email Reviewer @ 12, Feb 2009 |

This was my introduction into
homebrewing and certainly won't be my
last. I always drank Wheat Beers -
Erdinger, Franziskaner, Schofferhoffer,
Paulaner & Weihanstephaner and was
absolutely shocked to find my own nicer
than any!!! I was expecting the worst as
it was my first ever homebrew and always
felt that homebrews can't surely be as
good as the shop/pub varieties. Made
according to instructions but used
Muntons Light Spray Malt 500g instead of
sugar for primary and left for 3 weeks
in primary. Bottled and after 14 days -
wonderful beer. Only way to describe is
sweet wonderful taste with a great head.
And at €0.61 per 500ml bottle is sure
cheaper than €2.50-€3.00 at my local
off-licence.

Summer wheat
by peterpiper - Email Reviewer @ 31, Aug 2008 |

Followed suggested directions for
40pints. Result a clear, light, clean
tasting brew. A very refreshing summer
beverage, my favourite summer kit found
so far.
Fermented at constant 20 deg.C - stood
next to the Aga (as we're in N.
Scotland).
Quick to clear - dispensed from top tap
king keg)

Not a bad drop...

Very fizzy beer with great head
retention. However, it might have
something to do with the Pride of
Ringwood hops I added to the wort or the
Brew Booster ? The result is a very nice
beer, but with very little to no wheat
flavour. Maybe the hops was too strong
for this style of beer. Still, very
happy with it.
