I like it but...

Made with 600g LDME, 400g DDME, 400g
Dex, 50g Crystal, 50g Black malt, 30g
Tettenanger up to 21 ltrs. Fermented
for 10 days, kegged and tasted a week
later. Has an unusual but not
unpleasant flavour that I quite like.
Holds a good head and the aroma is
fantastic. The only problem is I've
never had a Belgian ale before so I
don't know if the taste is authentic
but I reckon it's pretty good.

brewed this kit twice now, the first at
room temp (prob ~ 24 C)with 1 KG light
dry malt extract and activated kit
yeast, the second the same but 1KG dark
extract. Both marvellous, big head,
great mouth, sweet palate with long
dry-ending finish. next time will be
with cultured Chimay yeast.

Leave Belgian beer to the Belgians!

Made with just the kit and a body brew,
it was bland and lifeless at first, but
the fruitiness came out after a couple
of months. Of note is its clean finish
and fine head, but still tastes like a
British attempt at a Belgian Ale,
although the fruitiness is a nice touch.
I expect it would be better as an
all-malt brew.

Lovely Indeed

Lovely, made with kit yeast + 500g
light, 250 grams maltodextrin, 250 grams
dextrose, brewed @ about 24 degree's
for 5 days, then 7 days racked.
A new batch is already brewing but
added, boiled fruit(nectarines +
strawberry's) to enhance fruiteness.
Would possibly recommend make to 20
litres for creamier finish rather then
23 litres.

Made as per recipe subtituting light dry
malt for spray malt and using safale
yeast. Very nice fruity beer.
reasonably dark and a little cloudy but
very drinkable all the same.
