Real IPA

I made this IPA using the modified
instructions from Cooper's Web Site.
Made per instrucitions, adding 1kg LDM
and 500g of Dextrose. Topped off
fermenter to 20l. Bottled after 7 days.
After being in the bottles for over a
month, this stuff is heavenly at about
6% ABV. This is nice and hoppy, real IPA
taste. Keeping some for a few more
months until winter. Can't Wait!

Like all the Heritage range this one is
a gold.
I've been looking for a style of beer
that I would call my favourite.
After a great Winter brewing Lagers
/Pilsners I thought I had found my
favourite beer until I tried IPA.
(Although I have lots more styles to
brew including wheat)
At the moment IPA is it!
(Also see Black Rock IPA review)
Brewed with Goldings Hops and Light
Liquid Malt + 500g brew booster in
racking.
Lovely stuff in the hot months

India Pale Ales were highly hopped, high
in alcohol, cask ales dispatched from
the mother country to the thirsty troops
in India. This Cooper's version is an
impressive extract version. Used
Munton's P Gold yeast X2, 500 gms DME,
300 gms dextrose, volume 20 l, temp
20*C. OG 1.040 FG 1.012. After 4 weeks
in bottle has a full, hoppy flavour with
a dryness appropriate to the style. Has
the best hop character of any home brew
kit I have done. Will experiment further
with this one.

Made this kit with 50% Brew Enhancer and
50% Light Dry malt, brewed at around 21
deg C. A well respected and travelled
friend loved it, saying it was just like
the James Squires India Pale Ale.

Added 1.3kg LLME and 20g Hellertau
pellets. Dry pitched the accompanying
sachet. The temp peaked at 25, but
stayed at 24 most of the time. Fermented
quickly and was virtually finished in 36
hours. Couldn't taste my hops, but
there was plenty of hop bitterness,
which is the style, so I assumed the
bitterness was totally due to the kit.
Rich dark colour. If you have tried and
like IPA, you shouldn't be unhappy with
this.
